Beyoncé and Jay-Z are more than a celebrity couple; they’re a family, an explosive duet on stage and now CBD king and queen of the American cannabis industry. At almost 40, Beyoncé has given an interview with Hapers’ Bazaar, in which the pop diva has come clean about certain aspects of her personal and professional life.
After decades of pushing her body quite too far to live up to the beauty standards of the fashion and entertainment industry, this widely experienced artist found a relief for soreness and insomnia in CBD. Jay-Z, father of all Beyoncé’s three children, is not only widely known in the music industry, but also a noted businessman and Chief Brand Strategist at Caliva, a cannabis company based in California. The rapper is also the owner of Monogram and a self-confessed fan of his wife. These two are successful artists and strong players in the music industry.
During her interview, Beyoncé admitted that quarantine proved to be the ideal driver for “creating positive rituals,” to take better care of herself and that she is “so happy” that she is providing her children with a good example, embracing the healing properties of the natural world. “I’ve personally struggled with insomnia from touring for more than half of my life. Years of wear and tear on my muscles from dancing in heels. The stress on my hair and skin, from sprays and dyes to the heat of a curling iron and wearing heavy makeup while sweating on stage,” confessed the mastermind behind Halo, who found an ally in CBD to get some rest at the end of the day. “I’ve experienced its benefits for soreness and inflammation. It helped with my restless nights and the agitation that comes from not being able to fall asleep,” claimed Queen Bee.
The Texas-born artist has plans to build a farm to grow cannabis and set up her own CBD supply source. It will probably be located in the vicinity of her Los Angeles mansion and will also be the home to honey-making bees, another favourite of Beyoncé’s family. Her husband, Jay-Z—her partner since 2008—is also familiar with the benefits of cannabis and supports legalisation through his several companies.
